About
Born in London, raised on the mean streets of Greenwich, Connecticut.
From an early age, I was—let’s say— discerning. I approached every childhood activity with the scornful eye and scathing tongue of an aging food critic at a snooty (dying) newspaper.
When my family would watch tv together, I’d loudly proclaim to the room what I thought the writers of the shows and ads should have done differently.
Did that ruin everyone else’s viewing experience? Probably, yes. But, who cares? My parents were contractually obligated to put up with me until I was at least 18.
I always wanted to write books, but authors make actors look like accountants in terms of job security. So, post-grad, I settled for the next best thing (in my mind, at least): planning advertising. You could write the bullet points and move on, without doing the actual work of creating. A couple years in, I could deny the itch to be elbow deep in muck of creative work no longer and jumped ship into copywriting.
The rest, as they say, is brief and moderately interesting history.
